It All Started with a Vision
The live show took its beginning with the wonderful BBC TV documentary. It totally transformed the manner in which we observe the ancient world and dinosaurs. The BBC TV show was so popular that people in 30 countries watched it accumulating to a staggering audience of 100 million.
The documentary still keeps its place in the rank of the most admired television series of the past century. The creators of the show utilized sophisticated computer-generated animation to rebuild the ancient world in high definition. Encouraged by the success of TV programme, Bruce Mactaggart an Australian entrepreneur, cracked on to create a live show based on the famous documentary. It was back in 2000. Mactaggart appointed the best available producers and an film directors to make the show happen. It took nearly 7 years till completion. The maiden tour dates opened in Sidney, Australia and were watched by an enviable crowd of 100,000 spectators interested in dinosaurs.
Later in 2007 the tour of Walking with Dinosaurs live show was sent to USA and Canada. It is estimated that more than 1,5 million spectators had watched the Experience in the time period between 2007 and 2009. Experts predict that the European leg of the show will attract even more spectators. It is thought that there are more dinosaur-aware people living in the Old World.
So, is it Something 3D?
No, no, no. It is all natural and for real! The Dinosaurs Live show is a theatrical experience presented by the brave paleontology freak Huxley who is apparently not afraid of dinosaurs and gives them real hell! He will take the spectators on a story-line based journey to prehistoric past of our planet.
Every dinosaur joining the show is a life-size model. The enormous beasts are competently brought to move by hidden puppeteers. They employ complicated hydro-dynamic system in order to move the dinosaurs. No special effects (except of sound and real explosions) are featured in this show - it is all natural. Don't mix this show with 3D cinema - it is nothing like that. The model dinosaurs fell real. I suspect they are not actually, but all in all, that's how you perceive them, even if adult!
Which Dinosaurs will Star the show?
The main role is played by an impressive T-Rex. After all, he is the most identifiable of all dinosaurs. T-Rex is more popular than his less-vicious compatriots. Still, other beasts won't let him rest. A T-Rex needs someone to chase. Other dinosaurs seen on this show are Utahraptor, Liliensternus, Allosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Plateosaurus, Stegosaurus and others.
